So nice to see you!

So glad to see you've updated your blog, and especially glad to see you're pursuing photography and other arts.
The joy of writing is only in hibernation. It never dies. Let it hibernate though - your photos are very expressive. Thanks for the flicker tip. My lay opinion is that your photos are every bit as nice as ones I've seen published by other artists.
Beautiful photo of you, by the way. Refreshing to see your face is a proper, if artistic, portrait, instead of your stocking feet, pointing fingers, or lounging cat.

I looked, ever so briefly, at your flickr page.
As beautiful as your photos are, many would be much more compelling if they had a person in them. A tripod and a remote or timer would allow your photos to have a personal context. It would also allow you to have a photo not just of your friends, but of you with them.

Hello and thanks for your comments! I'll keep your words about writing in mind. And thanks for the tip about photographing people - my dad had the same comment, too. I always feel as though I'm intruding when I take a candid shot so I always wait until people are out of the way. The camera came with a tripod, so I'm also going to join one of the self-portrait groups so hopefully there will be more people shots soon!

I've noticed that if someone really doesn't want to be in a photo, they'll either make a pickle-face or move. I've also noticed a distinction between someone in an obviously photogenic spot and otherwise. Some passerby on a sun-dappled street far from crowds might find a photographer incongruous, whereas throngs gawking at Pike's Place Market shouldn't be so surprised.
Good to see you'll be joining a self-portraiture group. Two obscured face-and-camera and four sock-shots do not a complete picture make. Except, of course, for yarn-and-foot fetishists, who are presumably not your target audience.
Hopefully, you'll listen to your dad. In this matter, anyway.

They have a challenge every week. I have some friends that do it and post it on their blogs.
I guess you know you can blog from Flickr. It looks like that is how you did this post.
