I think many artists and musicians would say they share your desire to express themselves and the hurdles to doing so. (Writers too...)

I think that line between speaking globally (the product of their art) and interpersonally (their one on one relationships)can often feel more like a wall. That entrapment, I think bleeds over the lines at time, when they feel blocked.

I love how in this post and the previous you link the art, the creation to emotion - I think without emotions there is no creation.

I read this awesome biology article once about this scientist studying artists by MRI imaging. They showed that; to use a craft, you need left brain activity, but to experiment and create you need the right brain. When most artists are creating both sides are actually active and this, in turn, creates more activity in the cerebral cortex (that outer sheath that covers the brain). It was like thier whole brain was lit up ( ... )
