[For Reese]

He'd stalked the bookshelf for a couple weeks, studying the film reels as they appeared to find one that was just right. A lot of action movies had turned up, he'd actually sat down and watched "O Brother Where Art Thou?", and a few cannisters simply labled "Life" had tempted him, but no. Crews was looking for something in particular, and as with ( Read more... )

Comfortable turned out to be a pair of comfortably faded jeans and a long deep green sleeved tunic with a print of a light grey-green tribal lizard curling around her hip. Its golden yellow tail seemed to disappear into her back pocket through some magic of its own. She'd liked it the instant she saw it and had taken to wearing it around the compound. Her shoes were neatly deposited by one end of the couch as she arched an eyebrow at her partner.

"Crews."

Amusement flickered across her face as she took in the scene. Tea, cookies, fruit. Well done.

"Reese." He swung his long legs off the couch and waved for her to have a seat while he stood up. She looked, well, good, much better than he'd seen her in a while at any rate. Part of the burden he kept telling himself he didn't carry lifted as he grinned at her, both welcoming and mischievious. "Sit, have some tea, get comfortable."

Crews ambled over to the projector and hesitated a moment before turning it on. "How's the shoulder? And how do you feel about Cary Grant?"

"Where the hell did you find Cary Grant?" she said, both eyebrow s arched in surprise as she sank down onto the couch in disbelief. "The shoulder is mending slowly, but it's got awhile to go before it actually stops oozing crap. Getting there, though." She sounded cheerful, wich was slightly frightening. "Have you met Ayla? She's been helping me with getting this thing to heal faster, which I appreciate."

Reese squinted at the tea for a moment and then poured herself a cup, took a moment to fix it, and then curled up comfortably.

"Seriously," she craned her neck as if she could find the tin without moving. "Cary Grant?"

"And Audrey Hepburn." He got the projector going and retreated to the couch to settle at a respectable distance as the film cued up. "And Walter Mattheau, it's 'Charade,' I just kept checking the bookshelf and there it was."

Crews gave her a sidelong glance, then reached out to claim a few pieces of the dried fruit. He knew about wounds, oozing and otherwise, and was glad that Reese was getting help. "Haven't met her, no," he replied as the Henry Mancini score came on. "Maybe you can introduce me."

They'd have to have some sort of acquaintance exchange at some point, just to make life easier.
