Found out that my individual dental insurance doesn't cover the gum surgery I'm likely to need on my receding gums, so what's the goddamn point of paying $50 a month for dental insurance? That is going to be fucking expensive.
i have receding gums too! b/c i grind my teeth at night. i'm supposed to wear a nightguard but i never do.
too much. i paid like $350 for mine. and that was with insurance. most insurances don't cover them. mine only covered part. they'll cover the gum surgery but not the nightguard to *prevent* the gum surgery. MAKES TOTAL SENSE MY GOOD SIR.
i did a lot of researching and was trying to decide between a cheapo DIY nightguard you can buy on amazon and fit at home (usually between 30-100 bucks) or a real dentist office one. i figured to go all out, assuming that a professional guard would be more comfortable than a home guard.
i'm not sure if i'd recommend that to others going forward. i never wear it. in part, b/c it's so uncomfortable. i don't think there's any such thing as a comfortable night guard, though. my advice would be to try the cheap route and then, if you're good about wearing it, spring for an expensive one.
Kill that landline. it felt great to dump mine. But not after Verizon charged me for two months. So I should say that it felt good to call them and bitch them out and then get a refund check. I probably WASTED $200 on the last six months that I only got telemarketer calls.

Not if you're going through an airport, my friend. Sickness abound. It's beyond gross. I'm starting to identify with Japanese tourists when I travel.
