I haven't really editorialized on the health care thing much in part because I don't have a level detached philosophical response to provide. That said, I'd like to put my opinion forward now.

Shut the fuck up, you fucking moron assholes. Shut up you fucking senators who already fucking have government subsidized health care that, by the way, my ( Read more... )

Wait, as a grad student you're uninsured? Suddenly I have a whole new appreciation for Penn State.

And yeah, shut the fuck is pretty much the only possible response to this bullshit.

I said it once, and I'll say it again:

"What really irks me is that one guy on the Right walked into the pet store and uttered the word "Socialism," and it set off every goddamned parrot in the building."

Let's privatize the fire department too while we're at it. Morons.

I have one contention with the plan. So far I've heard of nothing that prevents private employers from cutting corporate health insurance to save the millions of annaul dollars once workers are able to get public health care, which would put a far greater strain on the economy.

Also, I don't think people should be excluded from public health care as long as their employers offer health insurance. For example, the girl I'm seeing now, the health care her company offers costs roughly $250 a month. She makes roughly $400 to $600 a month. How is that affordable?

Many states are already offering Socialist public health care for every child under eighteen, and that seems to be working out fine. Millions of people in Europe aren't dying for lack of proper medical care ( ... )

AMEN! I had no health care for some five years and no way of obtaining it. The system is fucked and it has to change.
