Kim Jongin felt like dying. He barely slept for only two hours, gazillion thanks for the fucking tasks and latest Diablo.

“ You look like zombie,” His jerk-faced BFF, Oh Sehun unnecessarily commented.

“ You look like poo.” Jongin planted his head on the table and drifted to his dreamland in an instant. Sehun didn’t even try to warn him when their teacher approached their desk to wake him up by slapping his dictionary to the back of his head. Jongin automatically let out flying fucks.

“ Kim Jongin, detention after class!”

Sehun leaned against the wall, waiting for Jongin to out of the teacher’s room.

“ What is it?”

“ Cleaning you,” Jongin said, dragging his feet to the hallway.

“ No way. Cleaning toilet? Ew.” Sehun scrunched up his nose. Both boys spent their precious lunch break looking for Kim Moonkyu to copy answers from. By the time they’re finished, the bell rang and left the two poor boys with empty stomaches which went kroong-kroong for the rest of the periods. School’s over hours later, after the sun setting down makes the sky goes navy blue. Students flooded the gate in no time, waving hands to each other and shit, leaving Kim Jongin all alone with ugly mop in his hands and bucket next to his feet.

“ Which toilet?” Sehun asked before going home.

“ Third floor, east wing. “ Jongin raised his brows seeing Sehun literally cringed. “Why?”

“ You haven’t heard? Oh my Jongin, where have you been?”

“ In your heart, Sehunniee-” Jongin looked to his side and shivers slid along his nape although nothing’s there. He shook his head.

This time Sehun’s the one arching his brows. “ What’s up?”

“ Nothing.” Jongin lied. Something unwanted crept through his chest.

“ By the way, watch out. “ Sehun lowered his voice. “Students said toilets in west wing are the most haunted. Especially the one on third floor.  Latest accident is a dead body found hung inside a cubicle three years ago.”

Jongin tried to keep his face straight. No, he’s not scared. “ It’s just rumor. We’ve been in this school for  half of our lives. Nothing ever happened, we know it.”

Sehun waved his hand.“ School tried to cover this. They renovated the toilet, that’s why it’s the best yet scariest toilet ever.” He grabbed Jongin’s arms, eyes sharp. “ Keep alive, okay? See you tomorrow.” As he turned to take the stairs, he could feel something cold grazing his bare neck. He gulped and sprinted out.

Jongin’s fucked up. His heart was thumping. The corridor lights were still on but another gazillion thanks for horror movies Lee Taemin had forced him to watch. He squatted, sinking his head into his arms. He cursed under his breath.

“ Kim Jongin,” Jongin’s blood stop rushing in his veins. He lifted his face in slow motion and let out a relief sigh seeing it’s only his teacher. “ What are you doing here? Not going home? Oh, you’re on detention, aren’t you?” He nodded.

“ Saem, is it true that there’s a student commited suicide here three years ago?” Fuck Sehun. Fuck Taemin. Fuck them and their shitty rumor and movies.

The teacher looked taken aback for a second. “ Who said that?”

The boy’s silent for a moment.  “ Students.”

“ No, no one ever done that in this school, Jongin. You’re not new here, you know this. C’mon, get up and complete your detention, you can go home after that.”

Jongin reluctantly got up on his feet under his teacher’s eyes. He bowed then took his steps to the said place. He stopped at the door frame, eyeing the whole room. Not too big, only four cubicles and washbasins, he hoped it wouldn’t take long. He could do that. He’s not some pussies. He decided to begin with cleaning the mirrors when a glimpse of something-someone hunched on a cubicle wall behind caught his freaking eyes. A very not-Jongin, high-pitched inhuman screamed slipped off his lips. He threw the poor mop across the toilet before dashing out of the cursed place in speed of light.

Kim Jongin was absent the next day.

“ Pussy.” An amused grin decorated Sehun’s face seeing Jongin the day after that, his eyes twinkled.

“ Fuck you.”

“ You wish.”

“ You want.”

“ Ew no. Fag.”

Jongin rolled his eyes. He’s not in the mood with the crap. He shrugged off Sehun’s arm from his shoulder, it’s heavy already, he didn’t need more weight.

“ So you see him.” Even if Jongin didn’t want to, Sehun’d still know just about everything related to him.  His tone’s flat without any mockery intention but it really made the older boy wanted to punch his face. He shook his head.

“ Later.” His chest still hurt until now. Sehun shrugged and took his usual spot. None let out a word until the third period came, Jongin passed out in the class after their teacher told him to answer a spell-like question on the blackboard.

The first thing Jongin saw when he opened his eyes was the thing he didn’t expect the most, he didn’t want to see the most. It’s the boy from before, the boy with too obvious veins all over his freakishly pale face and bloods dripping from his forehead, who was staring back at him. Or not. Because he didn’t even had pupils. Jongin shoved the blanket into his mouth to prevent himself from shrieking like bitches.

“ You can….see me?” His voice was raspy. Jongin shook his head fast, shutting his eyes tight. He chanted prayer by heart like monks in temple, hoping all of this was only nightmare and by the time he opened his eyes again, nothing’s there. Reality was just cruel and heartless like his teacher. Damn it. The boy stayed there for ugly minutes before thank God, Jongin felt like kissing Sehun for barging in. He envied the younger boy for not being able to even sense the other boy.

“ I thought you’re pretending.” Sehun finished his long ass ramble abruptly.

Jongin shook his head. “ Thanks.”

Sehun raised his brow. “ What?”

“ For everything.” For the milk, for bringing his bag, for saving him.

Sehun rolled his eyes. “ Ew no, don’t look at me like that and don’t fall for me.”

“ Sure, dear. Let’s go.”

Jongin finally thought he had found a peace. It could be the best week ever without anything disturbing if only his body didn’t hurt anywhere.

“ You’re glued to that chair for too long. “ His mother said.

“ You’re sleep deprived.” His father said.

“ That’s because you like to delay doing your tasks hence they’re pilled up and force you to finish them in one night instead of seven days a week because you don’t want to fail any classes anymore.” Sehun babbled as if he didn’t do the same.

But again those all might be nonsense since he still felt damn tired even if he did nothing. He decided to skip gym class that day because it requires much energy he’d just collapse again. So there he was, laying under the big tree behind the cafeteria, feeling the sun warmth, the summer breeze caressing his skin. It’s been so long since the la-

“ HOLY SHIT!” He shouted. His heart flipped and missed some beats.

“ Wha-”

“ NO! FU-FUCK YOU! WH-WHAT’S YOUR PROBLEM! GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY EYEEEES!” Jongin screamed hysterically like a mad man. He wanted to run and shit but his body sucked, it’s petrified.

“ Sorry I don’t mean to but you can see me?” The boy fortunately stayed still on his spot. Jongin’s eyes widened in complete horror as his eyes trailed down and found the fact the boy’s floating in the thin air.

“ How I wish I couldn’t.” He mumbled.

“ But you can,” the corner of the boy’s lips twitched. Jongin held his breath as he saw the movement, he expected the marble-like skin would crack and crumble but thankfully it didn’t or else he’s sure he could shit his pants.

Tense silence fell upon them.

Jongin inhaled and exhaled for times, trying to control his messy heartbeats back to normal pace. He couldn’t believe himself when he heard his own voice broke the silence. “ Okay, uh, well, so let’s be rational now, uh, is this some kind of reality show or something? Are you a part of drama club? Or what? How can- oh no, you’re the one who commited suicide, aren’t you?”

“ No,” The boy chuckled.  Jongin cringed. The dripping blood changed into stream.

“ I’m sorry b-but can you at least wipe the b-blood?” He whimpered.

“ Blood?” The boy reached out his hands.

“ No, no. Face. On your face.”

The boy mumbled some ‘oh’s. He wiped the blood with the back of his hands. “ Has it gone?” Jongin merely nodded. “ By the way, I’m-“

“ No, thanks,” he snapped unknowingly, waving his hands fast. He couldn’t care less with the boy’s feeling. He didn’t want to take risks by knowing something as absurd as this boy. He clasped his hands together.“ I’m really sorry, but please, please don’t show up in front of me again.”

Jongin wondered what he’d done in his previous life to be this unlucky. He still managed to see the boy even outside school. Ha. He crashed onto the vases behind him.

“ What- oh my!” The owner of the shop immediately approached him. “ Are you okay?” Jongin bit his lip, he got some cuts on his precious palms, even blind people could tell he’s not fucking okay.

“ Yeah, I’m fine.” He stood up without much difficulty though.

“ Wait here, I’ll get you some plasters.”

“ No, it’s okay. By the way I want to order a bucket of white lily,” he put out a piece of paper, “ please send it here. Thanks-and, I’m really sorry about this. Please add the compensation to the bill.” Jongin glanced at the boy who’s now floating behind the florist. He didn’t try to catch his attention this time although he did anyway but instead he looked away. He penetrated the wall and disappeared.

The nth time Jongin saw the boy he had lost all the dread. He knew the boy had tried his best to got the fuck out his eyes like what he wanted but it turned out the actual problem was on Kim Jongin’s eyes which still could notice him even if the owner didn’t want to.

“ I appreciate your effort, it’s just my super vision don’t let me to not see you so yeah.” He cut him one evening after extra classes.

The boy’s lips twitched up again. “ I like your drawing.”

“ Thanks.”

“ Sorry for freaking you out before.”

“ Mm.”

“ See you then.” The boy waved his hands onto Jongin’s back.

Sehun kept fidgeting on his seat. He glanced at the clock hung on the wall in front of the class. Ten more minutes and his paper’s still as blank as his brain.

“ But didn’t Silla allied with China to overthrow Goguryeo?”

Sehun bit his lower lip. Somehow he still managed to hear Jongin’s mumble.

“ Silla was the one that turned into Goryeo? Not Goguryeo? But their names’re the similar one…”

Sehun threw his pen. “ For fucking fuck’s sake, Kim Jongin, shut up!”

Jongin turned his head, raising his brows at him, a bit taken aback by the sudden outburst. “ But you’re the-“ He didn’t finish the sentence. His eyes widened to the maximum as he looked around and grabbed Sehun’s sleeve for dear life all of a sudden.

“ What the hec-“

“I said no cheating! Minus ten for two of you at the back! ”

Sehun ignored his seatmate for the rest of the day.

Jongin didn’t know reading Tokyo Mew Mew could help him in situation like this. He’s supposed to find Sehun and gave him a cheap bubble tea as apology for making his score minus, but instead there he was, pressing his mobile phone on his ear, walking past the other students, pretending to having a call while actually talking to the floating boy.

“ Good idea.” The boy commented. Jongin merely nodded.

“ How do you know the answers?” He asked right to the point.

“ I just learned about them months ago.”

“ Months? Not years? Have you checked the date?” The boy nodded. Jongin sighed. He really had no clue what he’s doing. “ Were you a student here?” He stared at the blood-stained blue tee the boy wore.

“ It should be ‘are’. I’m still a student here.”

“ Eh? But you…you…you’re like already dead?” Jongin scratched the back of his head, confused.

“ No. I’m not dead yet. I can tell you an explanation but if you don’t want to hear, I won’t waste my…well basically nothing, I just don’t like disturbing people with my things.”

Jongin looked down at the bubble tea in his hand. “ If you don’t mind. Let me find Sehun first.”

Do Kyungsoo’s a nice person. Park Chanyeol often says that it’s good to be a nice person but really, anything  that’s exaggerated will never be good, and for this case, Kyungsoo’s problem was being too nice.

“ You should try to say no to people,” Byun Baekhyun suggested one morning. Kyungsoo shrugged. No problem, he thought and gave it a try. The day ended with none people thought it’s better to change Kyungsoo from the way he is.

“ Chanyeol, stop stop,” he tapped the called boy’s shoulder. It’s the first day of holiday and they’re on their way to fetch Baekhyun at his home.

“ What?” Chanyeol parked his bicycle at the side. He followed Kyungsoo approaching a little girl who’s crying in all white dress under a tree. No wonder. Kyungsoo has this weird radar to notice everyone who needs help. He should be an angel.

“ Neighbour’s cat,” She said between her sobs, pointing a fat brown cat sitting on a tree branch after Kyungsoo asked her what happened.

“ It’s shaking, but don’t worry,” he patted the girl’s head. “ Because we have this oppa here,” He smiled at her, tugging Chanyeol’s shirt.

“ What?” Chanyeol raised his brows, trying to act oblivious.

“ You won’t just stand here seeing us climbing this tree, will you? Help, please?”  Kyungsoo showed him his best puppy eyes together with the girl. The taller boy rolled his eyes.

“ Geez. Be glad I’m not such a heartless bastard,” He mumbled, reaching out his long arms and climbed the tree easily. It took minutes to Chanyeol got the cat back to the girl.

“ Thank you!” She bowed for times.

“ No problem! We’re glad to be able to help you!” Kyungsoo smiled again. “ You’re alone?”

The girl shook her head. “ No,” she wandered around. Chanyeol thought he knew how this scene would be. She was there with her pretty sister but then the cat ran away. She left her sister to catch the cat and got lost- “ I’m with oppa.” Oh. Chanyeol puffed his cheeks.

“ Where is he?”

“ I-I don’t know,” she bit her lip. Chanyeol smirked to himself, at least the lost kid script was right, right.

“ Do you know his phone number?” Kyungsoo asked. But before the girl could answer, a voice interrupted them.

“ Soo Jung!” A boy showed up across the road.

“ Oppa!” The girl turned and beamed, waving her free hand.

“ Soo Ju-“

“ NO!”

“ WATCH OUT-KYUNGSOO!”

When Chanyeol turned his head, Kyungsoo’s not longer on his spot. He ran past him, across the street and in a blink of an eye, two bodies were thrown meters away.

Park Chanyeol knows it’s good to be nice people, but if being one of them could be the reason of your death, well, then no, it’s not good.

When Kyungsoo opened his eyes, he found a really pretty and glowing stranger staring down at him. He blinked his eyes, adjusting with the blinding brightness that welcomed his vision. The stranger- a boy- smiled at him.

“ Hey,” he called. Kyungsoo sat up, supporting his back with his elbows.

“ Who are you?” He asked.

“ Hello, I’m Lu Han.” The boy reached out his hand, helping him getting back on his feet.

Kyungsoo felt as light as feather. He looked around. Everything’s blur. “ Why can’t I see?”

The boy didn’t answer, instead he asked him if he could hold his hand. Kyungsoo did as what’s asked hesitantly and the next second they began to float in the air. He’s surprised but didn’t say anything. They left the ground meters, miles under their feet until he could feel something soft grazing his skin.

“ What’s this?”

“ Cloud of course.”

“ Where are we going?”

“ You’ll see.”

They eventually stopped floating somewhere, still surrounded by clouds, but definitely closer to the sun since there’s like the brightest place he’d ever been. He narrowed his eyes, minimalizing the light coming into his eyes. A man appeared out of nowhere, startling Kyungsoo.

“ Lu Han,” the man said, a single dimple showed on his right cheek as he smiled.  “ How’s the first time?” His eyes moved then landed on Kyungsoo. His smile faded in an instant. “ Lu Han?” He called the boy, eyes didn’t leave Kyungsoo.

“ Yes?”

“ Are you sure this is the one?”

“ Of course, who else?” Lu Han arched his brows.

The man merely shook his head. “ What’s your name, son?”

“ Do Kyungsoo.”

Kyungsoo knew. He knew  there had to be something wrong happened only by looking at the drastic change on the men’s face.

“ Lu Han-“

“ I can explain-“

“ Lu Han, this is not a joke- you took the wrong soul!” The man shook his head. “ You two wait here!” He ordered before disappearing. Lu Han seemed like choking on something.

“ Are you okay?” Kyungsoo asked. He could see Lu Han’s eyes glistening.

“ I-I-I…Sorry, I-“ He stuttered. He inhaled, trying his best to hold back his tears. “ Sorry.” Kyungsoo, who’s still had no idea about whatever’s going on, only simply nodded. He patted Lu Han shoulder’s, mumbling some ‘it’s okay’ and ‘don’t worry’s.

The man from before’s back a moment later, now with another man, tall and intimidating. Kyungsoo ducked his head down.

“ Lu Han, you come with me. Wu Fan,” the former said before he took Lu Han’s hand and went to no one knew, leaving Kyungsoo alone with this new man.

“ Do Kyungsoo,” the man cleared his throat. He kept a poker face well but Kyungsoo still could notice the uneasiness in his voice. “ We’re very sorry for this mistake. We’ll take care and finish this as soon as possible.”

Kyungsoo nodded his head again. “ It’s no problem for me, but actually, what’s going on?”

The man pursed his lips. “ Down there, on Earth, you’re dying now. The man from before-Lu Han- he took the wrong soul. The one who should be here was the boy you saved before.”

Jongin squinted his eyes, throwing his judging stare at the floating boy. Why he felt the story’s so familiar.

“ So you’re waiting for them now?” The floating boy nodded. “ And you know Park Chanyeol and Byun Baekhyun?” Another nod.

“ Park Chanyeol’s my cousin.”

“ Oh? Wait.” Jongin’s face scrunched up as he tried to remember something. His brain failed him. “ What’s your name?”

“ Do Kyungsoo.”
