Tomorrow I'm going into work at 8am for the last time this year, until the next semester. I go in at 8am, but we're only working until 12:30... :\ so then everyone can get ready for the christmas party they're throwing for us. It would be nice, but I'm feeling a lot of anxiety over it because we're supposed to bring a gift for the white elephant

Aw man I hated the white elephant gift thing xD Because I always got paired with someone who I didn't like, but it's up to you c= I usually only bring gifts to my friends,family, or if someone who is having a rough day, but if you don't feel comfortable then don't do it? How would you celebrate Christmas if you don't mind me asking? ^^

Well, luckily this game is just bring a gift to the party and then you just pick a random gift for yourself out of the pile. no one ends up getting paired with anyone else!

Hmmm... Well, I would probably still put candy in stockings for people I lived with! I love sweets so I can still see stocking stuffers being part of my christmas. Maybe a few holiday activities would be nice, like decorating cookies and setting up decorations! Especially some lights (indoors... lol) And maybe on christmas day I'd make some good dinner to eat? lol. Good question! I'm not sure that I'd do much at all.

Holidays are odd. Some parts I'm real excited about, but other times I get sort of depressed because all the money being spent and family drama. @_@ Like, what's the point? I could just give everyone a card and move on with life, but I never wind up doing that.

White Elephant can actually be pretty fun...at least the way I played it. x'D I took some random anime thing I had left over from some noppin lots and people flipped out over it lol

Yeahhh, that's how I feel. I get no joy from the season especially; I dislike winter a great deal. But the holiday itself is just a bunch of family obligations to me and it's just so uncomfortable.. X(

I wish I had any of my old stuff with me, it's currently at my old residence.. x_x I'll probably end up bringing something lame. Or just tell people I'm not participating in gifts... ugh, who knows. D: the party is in a little over 12 hours!

I can agree with that completely. @_@ Where I live it switches from sweltering weather to frigid every couple of days because Florida is crazy. ;_; And based off of what's happened the last few months, I'm sure I will have my fair share of overly awkward family experiences this week.
I think most people find the holidays to be overly stressful and annoying, but they just stay more positive about it? x'D

Nothing wrong with not participating. I mean, heck, you could just say you forgot and that it's fine if you sit it out. The party is supposed to be for fun anyways, so just do whatever makes you most comfortable I guess.

Ahhh, Florida! a friend of mine is actually in florida right now with his family on vacation... :X JEALOUS... I would be most happy living in a state where we didn't have winter ever. We get snow here every year. Last year it only snowed some, but some years we get huge blizzards! One winter it stayed below 32 degrees for an entire month... highs and lows! It was awful lol.

Yeah, that's a good point though. I'm sure most people get stressed about christmas... I guess it must be worth the stress to some people!

I think I might just do that! I can't imagine they'd be upset if I just didn't participate in the gifts... ._.;

My friend made a white elephant sculpture once for it, lol. I brought a toilet seat one year...

It's stupid too cause I didn't even sign up for the party but Noel put my name down anyway since I work that day anyway sfkjasj they're making tons of people come in today to clean for like 4 hours :|;;; just so they'll go to the party......... :I like I wanna change into nice clothes after I've worked and gotten all work-smelly

I've never heard of White Elephant before, but I looked it up and it appears to be the same thing as Dirty Santa? Dirty Santa is really fun even if you don't know anyone. My mother and I usually buy $5-$10 gift cards for Dirty Santa, but I've also taken things like giant candy bars and pointless but funny holiday themed items (weird looking santa hats, singing decorations, etc).

But anyway, I don't think anyone will care if you opt out, just as long as you don't accept a gift. If they ask why you didn't bring one, say you couldn't think of anything to bring.

I feel you on not liking Christmas very much. I used to enjoy Christmas when I was a kid, but then winter started making me feel depressed. It's not as bad as usual this year, but I still can't seem to get into the Christmas spirit.

Yeahh. :c I feel so unhappy during winter, it's just miserable! I'm at least glad I get to spend a lot of my winter break being a hermit in the house for several days in a row!
