Regarding that last post.

Well, my post didn't even make it past the submission stage. I wasn't aware that the community had such strictly monitored posting access (unusual in a community simply about living poor). Here is the response I got from an unnamed moderator ( Read more... )

letters, communities

Sure, never hurts to explain yourself. Tell them you meant no disrespect, and it wasn't personal, but just an observation as to the state of the community from a newbie's POV. Stay in the community and see how it goes should you ever post a question of your own, that will be the true test. Then we'll see what the mods do to help you etc.

Give it a go, wouldn't hurt. At least you've at least said your part at that point eh?

True, true. I think I will probably end up giving that a try. I hate to give up on the community, because there ARE some really helpful tips in there. Thanks for your help!!!

from the other side:

At this impasse, I'd say "fuck'em".. The mod is not interested in your side, from what I can tell, but only your submission and obedience.

Stay to read posts, but any further emails to the mod is not going to sway or enlighten him/her.

I forgot I was even in their comm. till you posted about them. All their posts were filling my friends page to the point of absurdity for a stretch.

I bet. I have to make specific filters for a lot of communities (like indie_exchange) because it would take up my whole f-list.

I do agree with you that they seem to be only interested in submission and obedience...but I might try one more time to get my point across, at least to ALL the mods.

Thank you for your advice!

At least you got a civilised reply from (one) of the mods; I'd say your job here is done! Perhaps it will inspire further ruminations???

part of me wants to agree with tamble, part of me looks at your post to the group, finds the moderator's response completely indefensable and says "fook 'em an' feed 'em wee fishy-heads". i would still monitor the group, if i were you, just in case anything useful did show up or anyone in the group needed help that you could provide. hell, if nothing else, form a 'group within the group' of folks who were treated badly by the membership as a whole.

I'm with you. I'm kinda on the fence myself. You're right though, in that I should stick around to offer some kind words when none seem available. We'll see how it turns out.

I used to love my period for that very reason too. Even WITH health insurance my birth control is $45 a month. Without it would be 70-something. Hence why I wasn't on it for like 4 years. Thankfully I can now fuck Jacob 24-7 with no worries :)

P.S. Icon love :)

Indeed!!! I was so glad that he never had any qualms about bloody fun time. Quite the opposite, actually.

Someday Kyle and I will meet you & Jacob and we will all have a BLAST!
