Murakami

I'm almost done Kafka on the Shore. I'm not quite sure what to think of it. It's certainly an entertaining and easy read, and shares the same general style and concepts as Hardboiled Wonderland and Wind-Up Bird Chronicle (I think Murakami's got a monopoly on "orgasm as a portal to another dimension"). Well, my taste in books tends to run opposite to other people's, so you may feel differently. I might have been a bit harsh, it's certainly a good read, I think I was just let down because it wasn't what I expected. Kafka's kind of a mix of his two (very different) book styles, and the end result is a little bit confused, and doesn't really pull of either style completely.
