Tia-chan

I'm the only one of us that hasn't posted about Tia-chan...and I guess that's because I was a little embarrassed about my first reaction to her...But there's no real hiding it. I cried. I held her and I cried more than she did, and I knew in that instant that I had made the right choice by staying. She's absolutely perfect. It's a bit bittersweet, ( Read more... )

That is nothing to be embarrassed about, Hikaru. I've known some very strong men who cried when they first saw their child. And you're one of the strongest men I know, so, it's not shameful. And whether you keep her one day or until she leaves for college, you'll get to say that you had her in your life. This is a wonderful thing.

You'll make a great father.

But am I her father? Or just a caregiver? I guess that's the one thing I'm not clear on. I mean, Shouta probably wants her to think of him as her father...

And I'll never have kids of my own...

Hikaru, I think you know this better than anyone. Father is not the man who donated 1/2 your DNA. Father is the man that is there for you. That worries about you and takes care of you. The one that loves you, no matter what. Like me, you never really had that sort of father.

You love her. You care for her. You are her father until the day she personally tells you different. Even if Shouta comes to claim her back; in your heart, she's your little girl....or am I wrong?

Screened to Osamu

No, you're right...I just hope I can do a good job. She's so beautiful, and I love holding her...

And you two were icredibly beautiful together, I must say. I think she has taken to you a lot~ I'd get jealous if it wasn't so absolutely wonderful! :) We're her fathers as much as Shouta is. We're her foster parents, if nothing else, part of her life and no one can take that away from us. And one day she'll stand in front of us and tell us her thanks and we'll just hug her and say that we loved doing it. And Hikaru? I'm glad you stayed.

You're right. We are her fathers. And that'll never change.

Thanks, Kenya. I'm glad I stayed, too.

I hope you do cherish her as your own.... because she is ours. While she is with us she is ours and only ours, how she came to be with us is irrelevant, it doesn't matter. What matters, the only thing that matters, is that she's here now and we will love her and take care of her and raise her as our daughter.

:) And we told you that you'd be a wonderful father, you'd take to it with ease and you have!

I think I'm going to stop off somewhere after work today and pick up a new photo album, maybe a few so we can remember these first days and how beautiful and amazing you and Kenya look with her.

Yeah, she's our beautiful little girl. And how could I not take to it, with as precious as she is? Though, I have to admit, I wouldn't be able to do it without you two.

And you look pretty amazing with her, too, you know?

I think even without us you would be a wonderful father. But she is, she's our little girl and no one can tell us otherwise.

haha not nearly as good as you two!

Ahh, it's a common reaction. Children are both blessings and curses. One thing's for sure, though, they'll definitely become the centre of your life. I wish you luck.

She's already very important to me. And I work from home, so I can be with her all the time.

That's wonderful, it's great to be around them when they're growing up. You don't miss any moments, then.

Ah, they're so cute when they're that small! She'll be big before you know it, though, but there'll be times when you can't wait for that to happen. Still, it is something to cherish so that you'll have the memories forever.
