This shouldn't be too hard, since I get to pick the categories! ( They're under the cut )

I've seen other people doing this too, and it looks like so much fun! I might have to try it.

Looking at all those blank spaces, I'm wondering if I've bitten off more than I can chew...

For biography/memoir may I suggest Geisha, A Life by Mineko Iwasaki. I love it, she is suprising, and there are pictures. She also helped the author of Memoirs of a Geisha with facts and details. Give it a try and see what you think.

Actually, I've already read that one! You're right, it was great. Any more recommendations for me? We seem to have similar taste; I saw your earlier comment about Girl with a Pearl Earring.

I have been thinking about it. I know you aren't too into the classics, I personally love Pride and Prejudice, but not everyone does. Um...I usually do a lot of my mom's pre-reading for her school library so my selection has a lot of young adult literature. I'll keep my eyes out for some great new books. Josh is reading Harry Turtledove (alternate history). I liked the book Ruled Britania (if Elizabeth's armada had not defeated the Spanish). I wonder if that would be considered historical...
