Barak, do not insult my intelligenceI feel it could be time for me and LJ to part ways permanently. I don't want to, as I have friends here I will miss sorely, but the wording used concerns me

jesus id cry if my journal entries get deleted before ive printed them to keep! i know, sentimental me! but whooaaa didnt know that! I dont read updates or whats going on with lj really, guess i best get reading if this is a clippet to go by!
I don't know if it would work like that, but that's my problem.
They are not really telling us much on how it will work, and the wording of a lot of that post s really dubious. I thought so before I even looked at the comments.
I think that purely from the point of running it as a business, it's really bad practice to not listen to your customers. To be honest, apart from just being in fandom, the whole strikeout palava didn't actually affect me in any way. It was LJ/SA's way of dealing with it that has bothered me most. I don't like people trying to get me back on side by trying to pull the wool over my eyes and hope I won't notice.
Aw, thanks. I would really miss you too. My having friends here is the only thing that would persuade me not to delete my account. But I wouldn't actively use it. Only to read my friends pages and comment on thier journals.
What I find sad is how many people just do not care about LJ's various policy changes, so long as it doesn't directly affect them. Though the ones who are complacently in accordance with LJ's TOS of the moment are less bothersome than the ones who talk about how they won't give LJ any money, but have Plus accounts, because gods forbid principles should stand in the way of their shiny things.
I don't get it either. I think that just because they're not bothering you now, it doesn't mean that they never will. I read Barak's latest. I don't think it really does clafify enough.
I think what some people don't realise, is that this stopped being a fandom issue quite a while back. This is about how LJ is run.
I know. I keep wondering how you can go on about attacking LJ's revenue when they are using plus accounts. It's amazing how principles can go out of the window for the sake of shiny and laziness and general apathy.
I would miss you. But do what you need to do. I just can't really motivate to move my journal. I don't really read much fanfic and I don't have much sexual content in my journal at all. While I am about as anti-censorship as they come...I just think if I avoid every place on the net with draconian policies or terms of use I would never do much online.
I'll miss the friends I've made here, which is why I'm still pretty torn about staying here just with a basic account for the sake of reading friends journals.
I don't mind the draconian policies in themselves, I can live with that even if I don't agree with them. Anything I had that didn't fit in would just be posted elsewhere. My problem has been with the questionable business practices and LJ's inability to be straight forward in dealing with their customers. I don't like someone fobbing me off with a badly thought out PR spin.
I'm okay to a point, but I tend to get a bit of a bee in my bonnet when people start treating me like I'm stupid. I try not to let it bother me but I tend to get annoyed :)
100 icons for free? Okay, that's awesome. *signs up there* I'm kind of terrible at keeping up with multiple journal sites, but still. 100 icons and an awesome username? Cool. XD

I wish I could just drag everyone off to InsaneJournal with us.

I keep trying. I've got some over there, but I've yet to convince everyone. Strangely though, with a smaller community, I post more in communities.

I may well keep up a basic account to stay up to date with what's going on over here, and to keep in touch with friends who aren't moving.
I have friends here who are important to me, so I want to see what LJ do before doing something as drastic as deleting my journal.
But if you do ever feel like moving over, IJ has a reasonably thriving and active FFVII community XD
