Better late than never, right?

Wow. It's a public entry. Amazing, huh?

1. What did you do in 2011 that you'd never done before?
- Directed The Vagina Monologues.
- Took a leave of absence from work.
- Completed my AA at North Seattle Community College.
- Went after Dadoo for more child support.
- Got a mammogram.
- Went to the Roller Derby.

2. Did you keep make any New Year's Resolutions for 2011 and, if so, did you keep them?
- I think my resolutions were to lose 20 pounds, give away 20 bags/boxes to Goodwill or other charity, and read 20 books. I lost about 5 pounds, I gave away about 10 bags/boxes and read about 15 books.

3. Any resolutions for 2012?
- Sort of. There's a place I want to be, and as a soul-cleansing exercise, I'm not drinking alcohol or having sex this year. Self-love is exempt. I also want to run a 5k. There's more, but I'm keeping some things to myself while I turn them over in my head a bit more.

4. Did anyone close to you give birth?
- My sister. But she does this nearly every year, so it's not a thing.

5. Did anyone close to you die?
- Mike

6. What cities and towns did you visit?
- Just Vancouver and Portland. No money to do our usual Montana road trip.

7. What countries did you visit?
- I didn't really venture that far.

8. What would you like to have in 2012 that you lacked in 2011?
- A smaller waistline.
- My usual visit to Montana.
- A passport.
- A birthday party.
- A visit from my step-father.

9. What date from 2011 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
- I don't really remember dates so well. If I remember a birthday, it's a small miracle.

10. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
- Finally completing my AA.

11. What was your biggest failure?
- I had been thinking of calling Mike to clear the air like we always do, but I waited too long.

12. Did you suffer illness or injury?
- I got the norovirus. That was pretty awful. Had a scare with a callback on my breast exam, but it was nothing.

13. What was the best thing you bought?
- I got an Xbox 360 bundle for my kid for Christmas. I also got three pairs of jeans for about five bucks each. Score!

14. Whose behavior merited celebration?
- C-Monster. My kid is awesome. He rolls with my moodiness and is understanding when I'm broke and we can't do stuff or have things he would like.

15. Whose behavior, what situations appalled and depressed you?
- Dadoo. Not paying child support for months at a time, claiming that since he hasn't been paid, I don't get paid was total bullshit, especially when he does the payroll. If he isn't getting paid, how does he pay to have two houses, a big truck and motorcycle, a boat, and tickets to all these sporting events? Amazing how after not paying me for 3-4 months, he asked to take Cameron for a tuxedo fitting for his formal wedding. Right, Dadoo. You're broke.

16. Where did most of your money go?
Food, clothing, and shelter.

17. What events did you get really, really, really excited about?
- I always look forward to Game Day. Also love going to the opera with Anne. I get excited each year about the Spring Glee flash mob.

18. Compared to this time last year, you are . . .
- Happier with my job.

19. What do you wish you'd done more of?
- I wish I'd done more dancing and seen more live music. I always want to travel more. Wish I'd done more walks around Greenlke.

20. What do you wish you'd done less of?
- Stress eating
- Time-wasting on Facebook
- Hermitting

21. How did you spend Christmas?
- I spent the holiday with my kid and my mom.

22. Did you fall in love in 2011?
- I met someone I have come to love, but not sure about the whole falling part. This works for me.

23. What were your favorite TV programs?
- Glee, Castle, SNL, Revenge, Once Upon a Time

24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
- Nope.

25. What was the best book you read?
- I really liked "Work" by Louisa May Alcott.

26. What was your greatest musical discovery or rediscovery?
- Saw my old high school friend Jeff play with the Rain Kings. That was pretty cool. Pug introduced my to Garfunkle and Oates, and I'm really loving them. Adelle is amazing.

27. What did you want and get?
- My AA.
- A job at a different school.

28. What did you want and not get?
- I didn't find out about Mike's death until later, so I missed his memorial.
- I wanted to go on my usual trip to Montana, but it was just not doable.

29. What were your favorite films of this year?
- I liked the final Harry Potter installment.(I saw this on DVD while visitng cosmicbandit.) Bridesmaids cracked me the fuck up. I loved the soundtrack to Sucker Punch. I saw Whip It on demand (I think) with Pug and it was pretty fun. I think that's all I saw the whole year. Pretty sad, huh?

30. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
- I might have gone down to see cosmicbandit. I know that my friend Allison talked me into coming out for karaoke and I wrote a list of song requests and all the people there sang stuff off of it, which was nice.

- Pug.

- Procrastination is the worst thing ever.
