Check out the one called "Fly me to the Moon" on flickr. :D Actually if YOU wanted to buy that one I would let you. Probably for no one else really. I'd be happier if it had a good home.
but..
I can also start "thinking" about something.
"Fly me to the Moon and let me live among the stars..."
there are 8 little gears and "balls" and screws.. or 9 if you count the little 3/4 screw and the Moon. Anyway, in my head while i was making it, I was thinking that in the Victorian days they hadn't discovered" all the planets. The "moon" in it is a lovely old vintage button I've had for 15 yrs or so. At the "top" i put a little "sun".
its a pendant - though I don't have a chain for it. I wanted to keep it as a pendent because the back is really beautiful.

Well I don't want to take something you're attached to. I love that piece though, it reminds me of The Little Prince and Antoine de Saint-Exupéry novels. Actually here's an idea: I bet you could take an awesome photo of "Fly Me to the Moon" and I could buy that. That way you could keep your favorite piece and I could have something big enough to frame and hang on my wall. And do keep your eyes open for more "stars" and "planets"!

This stuff is beautiful and fascinating. So many of the parts turn out to mimic shapes from the natural world. With enough of these little gears and cams you could make a whole garden. You're using old, recycled parts here but all technology really is becoming part of our aesthetic. It would be great to see steampunk mingled with flowers or hearts. Technology and nature/soul... in competition or destined to compliment each other?

I do like the piece... but I will keep my brain out for you... perhaps though there might be better choices than a pendant. I don't know too many fellows that wear them. I did a tie clip for a friend. but there are also cufflinks I'm looking to make. not that many shirts allow them as often these days. gentlemen I think also still wear Tie Pins. though they are small.. i might have some materials for that.

Still it would make me happy for you to have anything. You! You were the one that hooked me onto Cowboy Bebop. I still play the music all the time. Plus, you have the soul of a poet. I'm always glad to hear from you.

Ah, nothing beats the February snowed-in blahs like a creative obsession. :^)
