What is the deal

I never really was the type of person to get societies functions of today. Here is one of my main concerns, I ask my sister for one simple thing for christmas, money. Not giftcards, I ask for money, cash, hell even a check will work, just as long as I get the cash out of it. well, my two cents. money is inpersonal, its just cash. but gift cards have to have some thought behind them. so for example they get you a gift card for book store and you dont read. bad gift and they dont know you. on the other hand they know you are in to computer games, but not what ones you have so an eb games gift card is a great gift. well, that is how is see it.

I can see the inpersonal thing to a small extent. However, has it really gotten to be such a bad thing that if cash is asked for, people freak.

That's close to what I told you. My mom is the same way. REFUSES to give me cash for X-mas or my birthday.

Hmmm. Cheap maybe. Though even today, if you go to Circuit City or Best Buy, your paying an arm and a leg for a new top of the line computer. It also depends on what services the companies have to offer if you buy their product. Say, for example, HP. They have fairly descent computers, but the one thing consumers look for is what is it that HP can offer if they purchase their product. Free upgrades, warranties, etc. (Not to mention a lot of people hate Windows Vista due to bug issues. Yet, if you think about it, Windows 95 had the same problems when it was initially released ( ... )
