Letter to My Fifteen Year Old Self

Dan Savage has recently started an online campaign labeled "It Gets Better" to help empower the LGBT youth who are at risk for bullying and suicide. Many people are writing letters and creating vlogs directed to their 15 year old self in hopes that it will show others that it is possible make it through very dark times in their lives.

That seems like a very noble cause, and despite the very personal feelings in your letter I hope you do share it with them. I'm sure there are some teens out there going through what you did that could use the encouragement.

I'm actually talking with another person about having an event where several of us share our stories with teens. I don't know how far we'll get or if there will actually be any teens interested in going, but if we can even get adults to show up that could be something.
