holy fucking crap.
So I haven't posted pictures since July... like 18th or someshit.
Over 2 months, i've taken like three hundred and forty etc.
So here's over 340 pictures.
it's been so long I can barely explain any of these
Still exploiting boys at Rock America.
played way too much cherry drop and a few games of kick the hat/bottle/whatever. Resulting in filthyness.
don't even remember.
ditto.
but I guess we were singing karaoke and drinking whiskey that night.
something at a park.
best idea ever proposed by man: get crunk before noon and go swimming.
And we did just that.
prior to all that, we pooled our savings together and bought some inflatable whales.
Becky was pysched.
Nick drank too much and slept on the porch.
but before that he was... i'm not sure.
Best purchase ever.
I forgot how and why, but we went to Lake Bluff afterwords.
And for those of you who don't know, Lake Michigan is fucking cold.
which didn't stop us.
I went home with a super fierce cold.
following this a bunch of people showed up.
some shit happened that I can't remember.
Next day went to a park in Deerfield, I think.
There was a gigantic spinning piece of equipment
at some point in time give me the antidote played what ended up being their last show.
With a guest appearance by Steph.
Who has the coolest stuff in her backyard.
Including horses.
At some point Nick fell into a nasty lake.
discovered hideous shoes
Drank way too much MGD in Oscar's backyard
And then I turned 21.
To celebrate, Highland Park's baseball team gave an acapella rendition of "My lumps", "hips don't lie", and one other song I just can't remember.
They've got futures.
After them, we played a show to
this guy, who had a huge infatuation with the adjective "neat!", and
Seamus, who my parents finally brought out to a show.
alot of people ended up in my backyard to play Circle of Death.
The next day, Pitchfork fest kicked off.
It was about 5000 degrees out with no chance of clouds.
chin up chin up
Man Man, one of the best acts of the entire festival
Band of horses, amazing
Walkmen
The next day was awesome, too
Jens Lekman being one of the highlights
But I was tired, lazy, and sunburnt. So I didn't get any good pictures.
So August begins, and with Give me the Antidote no longer being a band, we realise local shows will dwindle down to nothing.
Thus, the idea is proposed to create a monster hybrid band. Three qaurters of The New Library + the qaurters of Give me the Antidote= The new library.
And so we played a show at Steph's.
We switch instruments like it ain't no thang.
Following this there was a bonfire.
Wagner's birthday happened and we (minus gmta) played our last show of the summer.
In attendance were about 120 pbrs and 30 kids crammed into one small, hotter than hell basement.
there was a slight intermission.
and then the new antidote kicked out the jams.
The next day we biked to an abandoned barn.
We stopped at some strange little garden shop before though.
Nick was psyched on some frog
The barn was pretty fucked up.
made another new friend.
A bunch of parties followed.
one a random roof.
one in some random apartment.
One at Killion's
some more shit i don't remember.
We drove 2 and half hours to the southwest corner of Wisconsin to play a show.
It was way pretty.
Bananers played
followed by us.
Then smores were made, stars were watched (holy shit, so many out there), and the hot tub was utilized.
Sleep soon followed, considering my allergies were causin a ruckus.
After I got home I went to Ikea with the future roomates.
Where there was (wtf) two turntables.
Later that night there was a "classy party"
I love classy parties where the first thing you see walking in is some naked dude.
oh but I totally forgot about the previous night.
Hung out with my fatboy
This is his new buddy.
there was drunken Lion King the following day
after that we went around pretending to be RA's.
The next morning was fairly shitty.
more random toads/frogs
So then it was September.
And we moved!
and for the love of God moving sucks.
188 bucks got us this piece of shit.
Let's cut to:
The apartment.
essentially I haven't gotten any better pictures.
but yeah that's where it be.
that night we went to Ike and Evelyn's party
the next day we went on a massive hungover adventure.
We walked about 2 miles to Lincoln Park.
Some party the next weekend.
and Jeff came over later that night.
Went to the Shedd Aqaurium
Moray eels are really, really, really scary.
After that we got stuck in a huge rainstorm.
The fire escape is awesome.
So then, MARYANN'S 21ST BIRTHDAY:
I like to call the smudge that somehow got on my lens an accurate representation of the drunken haze.
it started with a traditional dance for the blue line.
Denning was double fisting by eleven.
Jim todd kept it classy as usual.
that took forever.
OK. GOD DAMN. BYE.
