Title: He Tries
Character(s): Soohyun
Rating: No rating
Summary: No matter what, he'll try.
his muscular limbs twist and turn in an array of dance moves as he moves along to the music. the choreography has long been burned, imprinted in his mind and body. drops of sweat dribble their way down his face, past his beautiful features, landing silently on the wooden floor of the dance studio. his tank top sticks to his toned body in an almost sexual way that would make girls fall at his feet. his expression is a pokerface. exhaustion lingers behind his sad eyes as his ears take in the music, his body moving automatically, almost as if he was programmed to do so. again and again, he dances the same routine. again and again, he tries to perfect what is already perfect.
his expressions are set in a never-ending cycle.
smile, greet, laugh, smile, talk a little, smile again.
the same old routine is carved into his life, into his actions, into him.
wake up, practice, perform, get interviewed, go back home, sleep.
the life of an idol has been indented into his very being, forming him into an unfeeling shell of human.
once again, his eyes stare seemingly emotionless at nothing in particular. it has been announced, and once again, there's nothing.
shin soohyun, what a horrible leader you've been. u-kiss can't even get number one, and it's all your fault.
he watches as the winning band celebrates. the cycle of expressions overcomes him, and there he is, smiling. he smiles and congratulates the victors. he laughs, as if in true happiness.
behind the smile, though, is sadness. behind the mask, though, is frustration.
it's ok, i can live with it. i'll do it, i'll try harder, for the boys, for our fans. he repeats this mantra over and over in his head.
he tries, he tries even though it seems hopeless. even though number one seems so far.
he tries, and he'll keep trying to the day death consumes his soul.
