Okay, now that I'm not keeling over from being tired and I have two minutes to string together, I can post about my riding lesson ( Read more... )

Sweeet you started riding! :D

The first couple of lessons will result in soreness, but you'll get those leg squeezer muscles in no time. Just watch out if your instructor ever gets you to ride without stirrups. I've been riding for 10 years and whenever I do that, every single time I'm sore afterwards. XD

I really hope you get to stick with it. :3 It might seem a little slow at first but the better you get the more rewarding it gets. Not only do you just get better at riding, but you get to have special bonding time with the horses you ride. And trust me, horses make the best friends and listeners. ;P

I'm curious - what barn are you riding at? I love my barn to death but there are so few horses to ride at the moment, and I'd like to get to ride more horses.

/horse dork-out XD;

That leg squeezing thing is going to take a lot of practice. lol My heels keep coming up and my toes pointing out when I try to squeeze my legs better. Who'd have thought it would be that difficult? I am supposed to learn riding with no stirrups at some point, but I think I have to get the hang of this part first.

I used to ride with a friend pretty often, and I loved it. I really plan on sticking with it, and I think my parents have offered to help me pay for it if I ever can't. I don't think I'll run into that problem, but stranger things have happened. I was on Blinky again tonight. I hope I keep getting to ride him. He seems like such a sweetheart.

I'm riding at Talbot Run Equestrian Center. It's up in the Mount Airy area, so it's about half an hour away from where I live. I probably could have found somewhere closer, but I liked the look and the people there right away, so I decided to stay here.
