I must say that while I was well enough entertained by the Matrix (which I didn't pay to see in the cinema but saw for free at a friend's house), it presented absolutely nothing to me in the way of philosophical questions. In fact, it was so poor in this area, that when another friend tried to discuss said questions with me, I looked at him blankly and wondered how he came up with the following - "Don't you find that the Matrix portrays existential angst in the most poignant way?"

I've had a lot of existential angst trying to explain iwhy i dont like the film. Perhaps that in itself is enough to justify it.

i didn't particularly mind the matrix... although i have to agree it had the potential to be a really good film and was in that way disappointing. especially when neo flies off superman-stylee at the end.

goldmember was vaguely amusing in a retarded sort of way [1]... less disappointing than the matrix as you got what you expected. can't say i particularly liked either of them though...

[1] but then again, one of my favourite movies is beavis and butthead do america.
