The latest with the Z seal of approval.

The peculiar memories of Thomas Penman
by Bruce Robinson.

"This is a book about a boy and his grandpa, life and death, sex and hate, dog's meat and cancer. it is also about pornography, enemas, morse codes, puberty, secrets, God and loathing. And it is about love."

Well, you save my reading crisis day again - Jamie is out getting me a book from Hell/Borders and I just texted him this title. The other title I wanted (Another Roadside Attraction, the LAST of the TR books I have to read and cannot seem to find) is out.

So are all the other titles I want and I refuse to let him buy me the Mahabharata or Gita w/o me seeing translators.

It's great, I get to reread them for my new photo assignment. Life truly can be wonderful.

O good lord, I read that in the last few years, although the story of it is mostly forgotten and what most sticks in my mind now is the atmosphere conjured in the house the boy lived in. I dimly remember it being a reasonable read.
