Teh boy was tired yesterday afternoon and decided to take a nap. Unfortunately this led to him being wide awake when I went to bed last night (midnight). He decided he was going to go for a drive. I received a telephone call at 3am from him because his car died. Once it died, he attempted to turn around (why, I don't even know) therefore he was ( Read more... )

Inconvenient but at least it wasn't anything more serious, no one was hurt. how old is teh boy?

Mine was a horror, he had a motor bike and used to try and sell his body parts to the local hospital, asking for advances for when he'd be brought into the morg. I have no idea where he got the idea they would pay out for such things, they usually help themselves (with permission)

He turned 18 in April and is really a very good kid, just inexperienced. I think I've been a bit over protective so I'm trying to let him "experience" things. It really makes me sort of giggle.

When I first got to the scene, he had pulled out a sleeping bag and another bag of soft items and placed them in front of the tires...I think he thought they might prevent the car from rolling forward when he took off the brakes in an attempt to push it back on the road. I'm so glad I didn't laugh in his face.

It's one of those stories you can tell when enough time has passed and he can laugh at himself too. It may be when he's about 45 but it will be hilarious!

I get moments of lucid stupidity like that. When I'm just sure that something totally nonsensical will work. Usually late at night when I'm too tired to think and don't realize it. I'm glad he had the sense to call you, though. Odd adventures like that with our kids (or friends) can be fun when taken lightly. I'm glad you were able to find the joy in spending time with teh boy.

I think he thought I'd be mad but why...that wouldn't help. It was so adorable that he was so grateful. Perhaps, I should have pushed for him to do something for me! GRIN

At least I feel appreciated for a little while!
