I've been watching bits and pieces of the Chilean Mine rescue and perhaps it's because I'm just getting over that monthly woman thing, but it sure gets me even if I can't understand anything they say....except que pasa? and the numbers up to 10 ( Read more... )

I love that all the rest of the rescuers are still there to wait for the last man out of the mine....meaning the rest of the rescuers that went down. That takes courage!

It was epoc making. A truely remarkable rescue and a credit to the Chilean government. I started watching just before the paramedic went down for the first time at 4am (my time) and couldn't stop watching it until exhaustion got to me at about 10am. Then I popped in and out of the report all day. A wonderful experience. I was amused to see our BBC reporter who spoke Spanish, being upbraided by a few geeks for his inaccurate translations. But he was speaking pure Spanish from Spain and didn't quite get some of the more local Chilean version.
