This snow.... I can only imagine it is going to get worse with time. Soon enough a snow storm is bound to sweep up, cover our doors and windows, and we shall be trapped inside our homes like RATS in a trap. Leaving will become dangerous, our food supplies will become scarce--I wouldn't be surprised if we froze to death in our own homes. It won't ( Read more... )

It is the only possible outcome of a drastic snowstorm!

That's not true! Besides, there's always body heat and building fires and you can always improvise for food...

True, but if the temperatures drop low enough, it won't matter how much body heat we can provide, we shall all just end up freezing to death in bunches. As well... I would... must rather not improvise on food.

Hey, you're the super-cheerful guy, right? I didn't know you were a teacher...

I might want to sign up for those Japanese classes. Can you fill me in on the details?

Yes, I taught second year in high school before I arrived here.

Classes will be Tuesdays and Thursdays for a little over an hour. A Mr. Hiiragizawa has also offered to assist in teaching the class, as well as myself. They'll be at the high school starting this week.

[snort] Filling the minds of your world's youth with optimism and lighthearted thoughts, right? Good for you.

This week's not good for me because I'm getting my chip out, but I'll come as soon as it's safe. Anything I need to bring? Do I need to pay you?

Optimsm.... like hope... is false!

No, perhaps paper and a writing utensil. Do come to class as soon as you can, though. I realize the snow is a hazard, I would not want anybody getting harmed. I could give you the weeks lessons on my return home--where do you live?

I am, but...

Did something happen to Mr. Rokudo? I thought that he was teaching a Japanese class before...

Alas, I did not ask. I should think--as people do not die here--he was returned home.

Probably...

Will you help me? I... can't really speak the words, but I'd still like to learn how to listen and write in Japanese.

That would be no such problem. If that is the case, perhaps private lessons would be better. I am Itoshiki Nozomu, and you are?
