I have given it. The ash from the volcanic eruption brought in disease from a foreign land, and the acid rain has contaminated our water supplies.

That's not evidence. That is a theory. You have not provided any proof that what is happening now has happened before.

But I have! My proof is the poor condition the buildings were in even before the earthquakes which happened recently, as well as the state of the water--after all, it is dangerous to drink without boiling.

In part some of it is theory, I will not deny that much, but the evidence is indeed there.
