I suspect the point was, no matter what he does and how many of those facilities he levels, they'll continue to build more. They'll continue to use the population that they corral here for their own twisted scientific experiments. Perhaps if you're not a metahuman, or connected with someone who has abilities or whatever, you're not that interested.
You've got a valid point, I'll give you that. But even with what will likely be security that's even tighter than before, once they're up and running again, they're going to have to be even more careful with it, since people up and vanishing will get noticed after a while.
Given how much people seem to not care in this city, how much do you think that's going to matter to them? No one will say anything because they're afraid they'll be next. They're afraid they're going to be the only ones speaking up, and that they'll be targeted because of it. Amazing how many people lose their nerve when threatened.
Some do, some don't. But you'd be surprised what some people are capable of, when it comes down to it. But I guess it's just gonna come down to waiting to see what'll happen when push comes to shove.

That's music to my ears, to use a cliche. But if they have any inkling of that frame of mind, why would they keep you around? Surely they'd want you somewhere where you could do the least amount of damage to them. Home seems a decent place, since you want to go there yourself. And if it's as dangerous as they claim, it would be a good way to get rid of you, too.

I have no idea, to be honest. They might have some long-term plan in mind for me, or they might think my simply being here could benefit them. Hell if I know in the end, since I know they won't give me an answer. So I just have to sit and wait, I guess.

Think they've started some sort of off-world offensive action? Maybe against your world?
I hate waiting. Particularly the passive variety. Never been terribly good at it. You look like you can probably handle yourself, but if you need backup of the fanged variety, or the rather messy variety, let me know. I've also got a char-monster I could let loose, most likely. Back-up's never a bad thing.

It is a bitch. And I'll keep it in mind, but forgive me if I ever seem hesitant, since I've been burned in the past for trusting someone.
