Oooh, I love your Regulus voice, so pragmatic and detached, and I love your description of his reverence for the family. And the ending was brilliant, and surprising even though I should have seen it coming! :)

Thank you so much! I'm glad the ending worked.

I was proud of my Regulus here (does it seem to you that fanon polarizes into cute-little-brother Regulus and cynical-Death-Eater Regulus? I love them both). This occurred to me, and it broke my heart that he should lower the mask enough to open himself up to Sirius, and be too late by a few short hours.

Your Regulus was brilliantly written. I love his reasoning, his justifications, and his little asides. Somehow, it's just so appropriate that Regulus would slowly, calmly, reasonably decide to reach out to Sirius--only to learn that he's doing so too late.

Despite the title, I was just as surprised as Regulus was to discover that Sirius was gone. Silly me.
