One thing: We grew up with parents who were ultraliberal hippies in the 60s, who wanted to revolutionize everything, including the way children were raised. Not all of us. ;)
Well, I'm afraid that pretty much everything I wrote doesn't apply to all of us, depending on the definition of 'us'. That always happens when I start generational ranting. :P
Thanks! I kind felt like I ended up all over the place, it's good to see it still seems to have some sort of point.
I'd say the internet is changing at least some of that though - message board posts from 1995 that we all wish we hadn't made being archived forever... ugh. If only there were an undo button for being 20 years old.
Yeah, no kidding. :P And honestly, it's one of the reasons I doubt I'd ever delete my journal - It makes me physically ill to read parts of it, but it's kinda good to have that be some kind of permanent record. :)
I think that this generational carelessness and lack of responsibility is more a product of being raised by ultraliberal hippies than growing up with computers.
i think this is my favorite writ of yours ever -- and that's saying something! it really resonates with me, even though my parents were the antithesis of ultraliberal hippies. especially the ending. wow.

Oh for the times when I've longed to press CTRL-Z to go undo that last li'l whatever I did in my life.
I wonder what kind of buffer that would have... *chuckle*

Yeah, that's how this started; my sister and I were discussing how much we wanted RL undo buttons. :P
