Corporate Incompetence

Feb 06, 2006 18:04

Some of you have been privy to my situation the last few days. As of January 27th (a Friday), I was told by the resource planning department at my company (from herein referenced as `The Company') that I might have an assignment at either NASA, or on an Army project ( Read more... )

Something I learned about working for a large company. They can make you do whatever they want... cause they pay you ^_^

I'm glad to hear things are getting sorted out though ^_^;

Its not so much an issue with making me do what they want, its more of an issue with the time frame they've given me.

It is nice to finally find out the info that I need though. I should have plenty of time to read your manuscript while sitting there in the airport waiting =P

Heh, probably not. However, their project/component management software is meant to work with CAD and 3D design objects. I've thought seriously about implementing it, or something similar if I ever get a game company up and running.

You're pretty close to graduation now, aren't you? Started looking into companies at all? If you really want to get into modelling characters for games, while EA is an evil company, they present the best opportunities. Who knows in about 8 months or so I might be putting my resume into them as well.

Actually, I might be able to do that, this weekend I'm flying back, but next weekend I was considering staying over since, I'm pretty sure I'll be there for 2 or 3 weeks before (and if) I go to the Huntsville site. I'll have to look up where Katsu is exactly, and see if I can manage to get there.

Okay so its on 2500 Calvert St NW, thats really not too far from where I'm staying, about 4.2 miles or something, so a hop on the metro and I should be there no problem. I will be in touch with you and Lisa to figure something out to at least go out to dinner with you guys (maybe I'll even pay for a day pass or something to the con!)

Hehe, I might get a chance to see/hang out with you guys next week while you're down at Katsu. Its kind of odd, despite my saying I wasn't going to go, I'm about 4 blocks away this week and will likely be the same distance away next week. Like I said in response to Kristin's comment, I will be in touch and see at the very least about grabbing dinner with you guys some night.

Thanks for the wishing of good luck to me! If for some reason I don't see you guys next week I hope you all enjoy it!

Wow. You make this all sound so grown up and adult-like.

*oogles*

Good luck with things and yes... a decent paycheck can be a motivation for lots of bullshit. I only wish my paychecks were consistant... flightly little things that they are.

Heh, I try ;`)

My bank account is kind of like a blackhole -- money goes in and never comes back out again... which I suppose is a good thing!
