Heroes

Its been a while since I blogged. Mostly I've been busy with work, its hard to believe I've already been here for two months. It seems like I just started at the Boston Globe.

I've been watching several TV dramas lately, Smallville, Battlestar Galactica, Stargate SG-1, and Stargate Atlantis to name a few. Including NBC's new show, Heroes. ( Read more... )

Heroes seems kind of interesting, but placed against Lost, no contest.

Lost FTW.

Nah, I'm with you on Heroes. Nice concept, but they have some plotholes that bug me. Texas-Wolverine-chick is the most fragile girl known to man (how many times has she died since the series started? And seriously, WHO sticks their hand into a disposal? GEEZ. :P) and they had no grounds on which to arrest the policeman because they SAID Sylar's name OUT LOUD while he was in the house looking for the little girl. I think it's getting better, but it kind of got off to a slow start for me so I'm hoping it gets more exciting soon. ^^; I'm still glad it's sci-fi and on network TV, though. :D;; I'll keep giving it a chance.

Mohinder is very very cool.

Hiro pisses me off... cuz he's irritating... I just feel like how you get when you stroke a cat the wrong way or something. He does that to me.

I like the mother... cuz she's trying so hard to hold it together, that and her twin also for setting her up as an accomplice, although I dunno if that's bc of a time limit or something. I'm very interested to see development there.

Another show I've been hooked to is Supernatural. Very very hooked. In a fairly pathetic kind of way. It's been a long time since a TV show has been able to make me scream at it in frantic shock. Season Two moreso than Season One. I'm am very very keen to see where they go.

Oh and it sucks to be addicted to American TV shows when you're abroad and have shitty Net connections. But I still love the torrent!

I'll agree, Heroes requires an awful lot of suspension of disbelief, but I'm enjoying it so far. I think that a lot of the characters are going to wind up being killed/capture/written out though. The cast is too large, and needs to centralize. It's looking like they want to have the cast together or streamlined by episode 6 or so, just in time for Sweeps month.
As for some of them being annoying? I really can't defend a lot of them, but I love Hiro, I think Nathan and Peter have an interesting relationship, and I like Matt, the cop who can hear voices, but I fear he's going down. You've got to love Hiro, in his blog, he writes his favorite game is Chrono Trigger. Granted, it's certainly not the actor writing it, but I can't help but love that little touch.
But I'm definately digging it and enjoying the ride an awful lot. My friends are all obsessed with Battlestar Galactica, I haven't seen it, but two of my friends have been watching the series at a rapid clip on dvd. Is it any good?

Hmm....i don't know, i've seen the first 2 episodes and i was like, ok. It doesn't stand out or make me wanna go home on the night of the showing and watch it. If i'm playing FF XII or Tales of the Abyss and the show is on, i'd rather play these games then watch it. I'm rather addicted to how i met your mother, smallville and supernatural, also Law and Order:SVU. Sadly, i am gonna miss my friday nights on Sci-Fi, SG-1 will be leaving soon, its a shame too since the writers were planning on writing a series finale for the show during season 11, only to have sci-fi screw em over a good story. Now they're gonna have to scramble and end it. So sad indeed.
