hello, I'm Mario.

i was just doing some late night procrastination and ran into your post in a friend's friends page.

I've often thought about the current situation regarding 'panhandlers' as you call them, and agree with your theory. this man at ashfield station was playing the recorder for money. he was the worst recorder player i have ever heard, but he was doing something. and i respect that. it gets my money.

cheers

There's a guy in the city - usually on Pitt street in the vicinity of Wesley House, from memory - who I've been seeing frequently ever since I first came to Sydney. He sits there playing his recorder badly, with a sign saying something along the lines of "no money, no home. at least i'm working for my money, not begging".

It's a nice theory...

However, I've been in Sydney for almost 4.5 years now, and he's still awful. Anyone who plays as often as he does really should

did i ever tell you about a performance poet i met in melbourne who charmed his way into your pockets by way of "small gold coin donations" in exchange for a poem chosen from three categories: creative, philosophy and creative philosophy. i chose creative philosophy. i was ready to hand over more gold coins, i was so impressed!
