So, though I've tried to avoid spoilers for the new 'Trek movie, there was one thing I couldn't AVOID learning about... And it was one thing that would be guaranteed to make me utterly anxious and crazy and put me back in that hyper-obsessive Trekkiness that I thought I hadn't suffered since HS

And no I haven't seen it, but when somebody puts Spoiler icons along side their fics, it makes the spoilers kind of obvious.

This is true.

(Though, I learned about it smack on the front page of my local entertainment newspaper, and it's plastered all over the everything... So... Still, I gots me a spoiler policy. ;) )

Spock & Uhura. What did I think? Well call me Mr. Old Cranky Pants McStuffy Shirt but I liked it.

Romance? Yes. Smooching? Yes. Funny relationship banter? Yes. Sweet trysts in turbolifts? Yes. Knockin' boots? Uh no.

My problems came from Uhura's character who doesn't have a lot to do or to define her. (other than be a love interest) Spock, on the other hand, goes through a lot of character development and it makes sense why someone (such as Uhura) would be attracted to pretty, pretty Emo Spock.

At times it felt like Spock was very attracted to Uhura's logical confidence but it was a relationship that I wanted to see explored more.

Did it work for me? Yah.
