Is there a good colloquial equivalent to "itty bitty" or "teeny tiny" or something else that has kind of the connotation of being not only small, but maybe kind of cute? This would be modifying a thing, not a person. (Okay, in English the phrase would be something like "Itty-bitty monastery". It's kind of a long story.) Reduplication occurred to me

小不丢丢儿（的） means really really small and is commonly used to describe rooms or houses or anything really tiny. It doesn't have a "cute" connotation per se, but depending on the rest of your sentence, it can be cute.

try 迷你, the translation for "mini". or just 小巧, which is small and cute. i think the later often applies to apts, so it might do.
