Trash from a week ago

*EDIT: I AM GOING TO HUA LIEN TOMORROW MORNING, AND WON'T BE BACK UNTIL THE 25TH OR 26TH. WHAT THIS MEANS IS THAT I'M UNLIKELY TO HAVE INTERNET ACCESS FOR THE NEXT 5~6 DAYS. TALK YOU ALL AGAIN IN A WEEK. X)

Out of amusement here's some trash I drew from about a week ago while on the airplane/waiting in the airport.

Drawn on the airplane from San Francisco to Nagoya, Japan. Drawing on airplanes is tough. Not only is there turbulence, but the overhead light casts shadows on the paper that make it hard to see what you're doing. >_< I inked it later while waiting for my dad to pick me up at the Taipei airport. The costume is inspired from a picture of a cowboy in the inflight magazine... uh... haha. I drew this on the back of a page that I printed a Websudoku puzzle on, so you might be able to discern the lines from the backside of the paper. I hastily used the erase tool on paint to remove some of the lines.

Frankly, I find it more fun to experiment with expressions. I still can't really figure out how to draw different kinds of anger, among other things. Of course, this is supposed to be "surprised". Drawn on the same page as the first picture, so once again I had to deal with lines from the other side of the paper.

The sudoku lines are VERY obvious on this one. I didn't like how the hair turned out on the pencil drawing, and started to ink it, but didn't finish. So I left it as a mix of parts pencil and ink. I'll say, the excessive lines under the eyes are not normally my style. It's just something that I do with this particular character (who I am planning to put in my latest story idea).

Same character, pencil only. And on lined paper, obviously. I think I drew this while waiting at Nagoya airport for the connecting flight to Taipei.

Everyone likes fob glasses right? Yes, I know it's a disembodied head floating around... I tend to sketch those pretty often (because I suck at drawing anything past the neck down). xD

I was drawing something that I'd seen in an AMV (anime music video) from memory. Something about the character's face (and his costume, which I couldn't remember) amuses me, so I tried to recall what it looked like.

Well, I took a picture of what I was trying to draw. As you can see, I forgot what the hair was like. Dang it, is there some way to take screen shots from movie files (so that I don't have to use a real camera)? Anyway, nice costume don't you think? "I hurt myself today... to see if I still feel. I focus on the pain, the only thing that's real."

Hopefully I'll get better so that I can put up something better rather than this junk. Ah well... 'til next time!
