Of course I'm being sarcastic (that is, however, my real schedule from senior year). With that obligatory spam out of the way, here's some things you'd rather not read about:

There's only two upsides to me when I'm in Taiwan.
1) Being with parents.
2) The food Mom cooks.

Last year there were a few more:
- ABC volunteer program.
- Visting ppl! (cudownunder, shardsofthesoul)
- Pearl milk tea (unfortunately, they're rediculously unhealthy so i'm not drinking them this year)

this year, i wasn't able to make it into any programs due to schedule conflicts and no one that i'd call a friend is in taiwan at the moment. being with parents is nice of course, but lonely. every day i waste away further, but then again, being at college is not much better.

in taiwan, street lights are merely "suggestions". if there's no one around (or close), people will run red lights. light turns on red are OK if no cars are on the opposite side. parking on red lines is very common. to pass cars on single lanes, just cross over the double yellow line dividing your lane from the one going in the opposite direction. pedestrians will cross at any time, green or red, rain or shine.

my mom laments how many of the young people in taiwan nowadays hope to get on the fast track to success i.e. celebrity-hood. that might partly account for why many of the taiwanese young adults copy the hair styles of the local celebrities... and of course, in taiwan male stars have rediculously long hair (their bangs are longer than their female counterparts).

the president of taiwan, chen shui-bian (nicknamed "a-bian") has an approval rating of only 18% by most accounts. makes even president bush look good. the "dao-bian" movement, asking for a-bian's resignation, has a lot of steam. plus they put up some extremely annoying commercials on air. they're planning to protest on the government steps very soon. and a-bian is planning to take a coincidental trip to guam (i think?) at the same time. basically, taiwan's political scene is very embarrassing, and the president is defiant and acts like a coward.

now i understand that i don't get along well with people that i have to live with (as in, roommates). happened the first two years of college. happened again for my recent vacation at hua lien (more on this later). clearly this isn't some accident. it's a flaw with me, and hopefully this will be corrected before i live with my next roommate this upcoming school year.

i don't appreciate when mom treated jerry (my cousin in taiwan) and myself as "twins" (but even parents of real twins probably don't treat them in the manner i will describe). basically, everything i do, he should do, and vice-versa. and "lets-get-something-for-the-two-of-you-to-split-fifty-fifty!". basically i'm begging for some sense of individuality here.

the more rotten inside i feel, the more my self-confidence drops, and the more i want to avoid interacting with people.

I will soon make a series of posts about my trip to hua lien. several pictures promised. look forward to it.
