Some other summer drawings/sketches...
Blah. The face is pretty messed up.
IMO, the best sketch I made. But I didn't dare ink it--I was afraid I'd mess it up. Those are just a few other practice attempts I made at character design for a comic idea I'm hoping to start on sometime soon.
And now for something stupid:
When in Taiwan, I was thinking about how my drawing style has evolved a lot over the years, incorporating bits and pieces from other artists' styles to make a mish-mash of tragedy. Except that I have never been able to settle into a consistent style, since it keeps changing very often. But anyway, I suddenly got the random idea of trying to emulate other artist's styles. To avoid spending too much time on that silly idea, I decided that no reference would be used for the attempts. I'd like to see if anyone can guess the drawing style's that I b4st4rdized in the proceeding sketches.
Notes: I'm unfamiliar with 1. For 2, I had in mind only the eyes. 3 is probably my first and most major influence. 4 would be too obvious if I drew an established character, so I "made" an original one.
Notes: I doubt anyone will know 5 or 6, sorry (only three people should know, and one of them is me). 7 is from an anime, and since it may not obvious, I basically tried to draw one of the characters from the show. 8 will be obvious if anyone knows what anime I've watched recently, 9 should be pretty easy. For 10, I apologize to jh_bamboo for slaughtering the style. 12 is based on a pose.
