I stumbled across this website about a family in NYC that is trying to make as small of an impact on the environment as possible. The measures they take could be considered extreme, but there are so many useful tips on conserving, recycling and reusing. Check it out.

1. yes. I did email him about dog poop, since he uses plastic bags from neighbors, and he said that he continues to use them since they'd just fill the landfill either way.

you should tell him that if he didn't put dog poop in the bags, many of them are recyclable, thus it would be better to purchase biodegradable bags and recycle the non-biodegradable, I would think?
