talking to myself

I need to give my characters their little slice of life, even if I'm a novice with the pen and it doesn't all come out as brilliantly as I'd like.  Now hop to it, couch-ridden, sprained ankle girl!  *surveys onlookers*  "Oh, you're all listening?"

You sprained your ankle? How awful! Don't tell me you fell off of those silver shoes! ;)

Try to enjoy what you write even if you don't think it's that great - sometimes the person writing isn't the best judge of these things.

It’s certainly not the first time I’ve sprained an ankle, LOL. It's just part of playing Quidditch. Were I a Hogwarts student, Madame Pomfrey would know me. I made brief mention earlier, but I was out running in the mountains in darkness and driving rain, my waning headlamp was badly wanting new batteries so I couldn’t see much but the flash of BW’s heels, and I was being too stubborn to ask him to slow down because… well, I usually don’t have to and I enjoy challenges. How fun. But I do wish I could say that I was fighting crime in the silver shoes when it happened. I will take your advice about enjoying the ( ... )

Once you've sprained, it's easier to do it again. Sad but true.

Nurse de Scania would know this. (read your bio : ) Unfortunately, I sprained it very badly three years ago working on a home improvement project in our back yard (of all things) and it's recurred every year since then. I'm trying very hard to get it the point where its strong again and I'm off the hook. I'm icing it right now!
