Ack! Those rock faces look smooth!! That's a beautiful video - did you put that together?
And LOL, Zia - hand jams out of reach seem more like nightmares, rather than tantalizing dreams. But seeing history in a place is something else, isn't it? Wow.
Yes, they are very smooth and vertical! That's the challenge of the splitter crack climbing at Indian Creek-- there are rarely holds on the face to crimp and edge so one's crack jamming technique needs to be flawless. You literally jam hands and feet into the crack-- ouch-- making all sorts of formations. I have a pic somewhere of what it looks like inside the crack
( ... )
Now that is what I call a crack! Cack! I presume you're held in on cams as I see no rope. *gulp* It's one thing to write my OCs doing it but quite another to consider someone I 'know' doing it...
Those photos are gorgeous! The colours are so clear and bright. The light quality must be tremendous. I do so love seeing these!
The one of hands ancient and modern is quite shivery spellbinding, especially when I consider how the technique of blowpainting works... Superb composition, there, Zia!
There's a rope in that photo, you just can't see it... It's either too thin to be seen from this distance, or bleached out by the light, or it matches the color of the rock. I know because I took that photo. (And I climbed right before Rob and I *definately* had a rope. ; )
The hands are cool, huh? There are so many little archaeological treasures at I.C. You'd like it a lot.
