What a satisfying day. I had a visit with an old friend, who(m) I hadn't seen for about six years, a woman who lost her husband to cancer the same year as Karl died. Two "young widows" -- I had gone to graduate school with her husband -- we did ESL projects together -- and I was always touched by how he used to speak of her with such love and awe

Maybe the ability to mimicry other bird calls is itself considered a breeding advantage?
