I am so glad you came for a visit, it was great to spend so much time with you and meet Dolan. Sorry your trip back was such a nightmare. It's always cool to read other people's observations about our adopted home. Different things strike different people, but there are always some commonalities.

about wanting to touch the produce I buy. I, too, was struck by this peculiar custom of making customers wait in line to be served personally by an attendant. On the one hand, I could appreciate how this practice no doubt reduces the spread of germs. On the other hand, after a lifetime a North American food-buying practices, I found the BA approach inefficient and slightly annoying.
As for the buses, I was most struck by their speed and casual manner of stopping, with passengers opening the doors well before the bus began to slow down. (Time to jump off now -- quick!). Kind of fun; kind of scary.
Did you you happen to notice any of the interesting translations on restaurant menus? Kragen, Bea, Greg and I had a good laugh over that. We wondered what "Gears" meant, an actual category listed on a menu.
What was the weather like during your visit? How cold does it get in winter in Argentina?
Sounds like you guys had a great visit. Thanks for posting your observations. They were fun to read.
