Triple-berry Mead Ingredients Procured

Starting of the must will begin tomorrow. I'm trying to decide if I want to warm the berries in the must mixture (the hot water and the honey) to begin with, or try the new technique I was just reading about of adding the berries in later, in a wide-mouth fermentation vessel (e.g. plastic bucket fitted with an air lock) after the initial yeast ( Read more... )

The experimental part of my mind proposed three batches - one with the berries warmed in the mixture, one added later, and one where you do it half-and-half.

The sensible part of my mind conjured up a quick estimate of how much mead that would be.
