One of the kids I've met here is a UC student named Ben. He is probably one of the best people I've ever been fortunate enough to know. It restores my soul to realize that there actually ARE humans with this much energy, this much genuine kindness and this much to offer the world still around.

there are many people like ben still around. finding them can be difficult, and far more difficult if we shut our eyes in fear and cynicism about people most of the time, which is something i was guilty of for far too long before i realized my mistake.
