I don't process "nothing"

So Emie was teling me that some scientists and other thinkers are putting out that the universe is possibly sort-of "s"-shaped....and that where the universe isn't, there is possibly "nothing" -- and I found out that "nothing" is not something I understand.  My mind keeps trying to fill in the "nothing" with ANYthing

Terribly difficult!! That's why I have such an issue with meditation. "Clear your mind." RIGHT??? I don't think I can do that... :-)

The first thing that comes to mind for me, is that's why The Nothing in NeverEnding Story was so scary. It's incomprehensible.
