Ever read those SkyMall catalogs they give you on the airplane? After seeing the myriad of ways you can invest thousands upon thousands of dollars in pampering your pets, somebody designing this room for a 6 year old really doesn't shock me. People like throwing money around in dumb ways, methinks.
Also, I'm skeptical of Relay For Life / the American Cancer Society. I think their hearts are in the right places, but the money isn't necessarily going to the right places. Though I don't claim to be an expert either....
I *have* read those SkyMall catalogs, and even gotten something from one: The World's Largest Crossword Puzzle!!
My issue isn't throwing money around as it is designing something so permanent with such a close expiration date. It's like buying a diamond ring for a two-year old. It's only going to fit her finger so long.
