I went skiing yesterday. It was actually quite fun. I even want to do it again. Apparently I didn't suck either. Carl followed me the whole time teaching me. We were both expecting me to suck but I didn't! I fell about 5 times but 4 of those were more like controlled spills. The last one was a real fall-- lost my skis and everything

skiing is awesome! :D i went for the first time ever this past friday...scary, i had two REAL falls and a couple of controlled spills, but i'm all about going again.

I've been skiing since I was seven (well, not so much the past few years due to the cost) ... it SUCKS when you're learning but gets better quickly. I suggest taking formal lessons if you can. I think you'd make much faster progress.
