I was going to try my hand at interpreting this, but I don't know that I should. I see a lot of interpretations here.

I like it and I feel like the moon is mocking me.

"Grinning" here does give off the impression of mocking! Now if you said "Cheddar cheese moon grinning"...I don't think that a cheddar cheese moon would mock me. Does this mean "Auburn" is such a sophisticated color that it must mock others?
