This is just a thought, but have you considered the possibility that there is no such thing as qualia?

Of course I have. And though there's little reason for anyone to believe me, it just happens to be the sort of thing that you can test for yourself. There are so many things that you may think you can test for yourself, but which fail in light of only existing one moment at a time, or via brain in a vat, or similar means. But this one is failproof, absolutely 100% accurate and robust against any and all variations on hypotheticals. I DO experience things. There IS something under my hood, behind my curtain. My decisions and freewill are all reconcilable with physicality and the mechanics of the brain, I'm not claiming that "the thing under the hood, behind the curtain, constitutes my free will." That's simply not the case. But though you can take away damn near everything else with hypotheticals, the one thing you cannot take away from me is that I have qualia. I also cannot ever prove to you that I have qualia, but for all I know you're a soulless automaton anyway, so who cares what you think.
