That is exactly what my reaction was to this photo, before I scrolled down and saw your comment. Scary! I am pretty sure I have that exact same shelf, too.
It was very scary. I was sitting at my desk chair (seen in the lower left of the picture). I thought we were having an earthquake or something. Nope, it was just my bookshelf collapsing for no reason. I didn't even touch it!
Many things break when I touch them. A lot of freshman year played around that theme.
Anywho, you're invited to New Year's, when you'r back out this way (presuming it's around New Year's, of course). We'll have a Westover in addition to Julz and Devin. (I hope that sweetens the deal and isn't broken now that I've touched it.)
The package I promised will have to wait; I never got to the post office last weekend because I was swamped with grading, and by today (when I'm not in MD) it's too late to ensure you'll get it.
Have a safe trip back and call me when you want to hang out; I work in MD on TH and F so won't be around then, but I'll be around working from home or off starting next Monday through the weekend after New Years.
