FF14?
Many years ago I was reading an anime magazine and I came across the following quote.
Fuji-san ni,
ichido mo noboranai baka,
nido noboru baka
I think that was how it went. Maybe if one of the 5 people who read my LJ speak any Japanese they can correct me if needs be. Anyway, roughly translated it says;
You're an idiot if you
don't climb Mt. Fuji once,
and you're an idiot if you climb it twice.
I can't think of a better answer to the question "Are you gonna get on ff14?".
Mostly because I still don't know the answer yet. Square did some amazing things in ffxi and some really stupid things. I often thought that if they learned from their mistakes they could make another amazing MMO. Then again they may just make a whole slew of new mistakes.
Who can say.
As for me I think I’m done playing any video game that has no pause button. I tried to stay as long as I could, but, when I found myself afk more often then not in Dynamis, or @ hnm camps (I still think I was one of the best Cerberus stunners), I knew I was causing more harm than good to Apotheosis so I had to retire.
I wish everyone who continues to play FFxi the best of luck, but try and remember that disclaimer that appears every time you log in (something something Friends family school, etc..)
I neglected my real life for too long, and a few things came up and bit me in the ass. As Shakespeare said:
"I've wasted time, and now doth time waste me."
I still maintain that I am an idiot, I just don't feel like climbing that mountain twice.
